Hi, my name is ALEX KO. I'm 13 years old from Iowa City, Iowa. My mom, two brothers (John and Matthew) and I moved to NYC to have this amazing opportunity to perform on Broadway. I'm so thankful to have such supportive family to make such a big move. I understand 'Billy' a lot because my Dad died of cancer - so we both have a parent watching and guiding us from above.
Thanks to all my ballet instructors, starting with Michael Kohli, Eloy Barragan, and George de la Pena. They taught me from my first steps all the way to advanced college level ballet classes at the University of Iowa (yes, I already have college credits!). I have been awarded scholarships to train with prestigious ballet schools including The Joffrey School of Ballet, Pacfic Northwest Ballet, and Steps on Broadway (including Tap with Ray Hesselink).
As far back as I remember I have always loved dancing, acting, singing and gymnastics. When I was 4, I would dance all over the dining room floor like it was my studio. My mom knew she had to get me into classes. I have won top Grand Champion at many dance competitions in California, New York, and Chicago. I have also performed with the Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker, Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker, and the University of Iowa's Dance Gala. I've won State of Iowa Championship gymnastics titles and Region IV (the region with the most men's Olympic gymnasts) gymnastics titles coached by Brad Virkler and Olympic Gold medalist Dmitri Trouch. In gymnastics, my specialty is floor exercise and high bar, but I love all six events.
I would like to thank to all the creative team at Billy Elliot, especially Peter Darling and Stephen Daldry, and also my mom, brothers Jack and Matthew, Grandma, Grandpa, family, friends, my wonderful teachers and manager, Brian Gendece (www.gendece.com), who have helped me live my dream. This is for you, Dad. I love you. www.alex-ko.com

Trent Kowalik (Billy)
Hi. My name is Trent Kowalik. I am 13 years old and live in New York with my mom, dad, and my three sisters. I've been performing my entire life. In fact, my parents believe I was dancing before I was even born. I was delivered with a knot in my umbilical cord, probably because of all my leaping around!
At age three, I started my formal dance training with tap and ballet and at age four, I began Irish step dancing lessons. I focused on competition, and, in 2006, I became the youngest American male to win the World Irish Dancing Championship at age 11.
Acting and singing always fascinated me. But, when the opportunity to audition for Billy Elliot came my way, I knew for sure I wanted to do musical theatre. Little did I know it would take me halfway around the world! I moved to England and began rehearsing while living in the 'Billy house' with other kids from the cast.
I had my debut performance as “Billy” in London's West End in December 2007, with lots of family coming "across the pond" just for the occasion!
It has really been incredible performing in the West End. It's an interesting situation being an American boy playing the lead role in a British musical, and being so far away from home. (Learning a new dialect for the role has been my secret to understanding British sayings). My offstage experience has been just as fantastic. I have made so many lifelong friends in the cast and experienced a different culture I would never have explored.
There's so much fan support for Billy. It was overwhelming at first, but now it feels so good to hear how much they enjoyed it. I really want to make people happy through my performances, and it's cool to interact with all the fans all over the world.
It will be amazing to play Billy in my hometown on Broadway. (My friends will finally be able to see me in the show!) I have always been inspired by the plays, the actors, and the big lights on Broadway.
I would like to thank my family, friends and dance teachers who helped me find my “electricity.” Getting this part is a dream come true!

Dayton Tavares (Billy)
Hi, my name is Dayton Tavares and I am 13 years old. I had the honor of playing the role in the Sydney and Melbourne productions of Billy Elliot and I am so excited to now be making my Broadway debut as Billy!
I used to watch both of my sisters dance and I thought it looked like fun, so in 2005 I decided to take a hip-hop class and that’s how I discovered that my true passion was to dance and perform. I also love to sing, play soccer and am a black belt in taekwondo.
Since I started dancing, I’ve won lots of awards, including Australian Dancer of the Year in 2007, which meant that I got to represent Australia at the World Dance Championships in Las Vegas. I won prizes in the competition including my favorite – Mr. Junior LasVegas! I have performed at the Urban Music Awards, Industry Awards and the Sydney Opera House. I also toured Malaysia with Studio 11 until I got the amazing opportunity to be Billy.
This is a dream come true for me and I want to thank everyone at Billy Elliot in Australia and New York and also my Mum, Dad and sisters Aeysha and Tenille. See you on Broadway!
