Fidelity FutureStage was created in 2006 by Fidelity Investments to support arts education in local communities. The core program enables students from ten city schools to learn about playwriting and play production. Each student writes a 10-minute play and five plays are chosen to be performed by the students and professionally produced on a Broadway stage.

This year, Fidelity FutureStage, the producers of Billy Elliot the Musical, and Elton John are inviting all students in grades 9 – 12 in the New York area to write a 10-minute play inspired by the themes of Billy Elliot. The winning script will be produced on Broadway by the creative team from Billy Elliot the Musical.
